PSALMS ON THANKSGIVING

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!  I hope you have a blessed day today.  Here are some thoughts from my reading:

1)  GIVING THANKS!  Psalms 35:18, says:  " I will give thee thanks in the great congregation: I will praise thee among much people."  I'm not sure a Mid-Week service is the "great congregation", but we gave God thanks last night at church.  We had the children give thanks first, then the teenagers, then the adults and it was a blessing to hear God's people give thanks to God for various things.  I read about the history of Thanksgiving and what a blessing to see the godly heritage that our country has in giving thanks and prayers to Almighty God.  It was a blessing.  Give thanks in Church, what a blessing!

2) CONSIDER THE POOR- Psalms 41:1 says:  "Blessed is he that considereth the poor:  the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble."  God tells us to consider the poor, and in the New Testament, He tells us to Call the poor to the wedding supper.  God has a heart for the poor.  At Grand View, we have a food pantry that we open up twice a month to feed about 200 people each time.  A big box of food is given to each family and it is a real blessing for them to receive.  Many good people work in this ministry.  Then our Bus Ministry, primarily is geared to reach the children, teenagers, and adults that are poor.  Last week we had 510 on the busses and right at 1,000 in Sunday School.  God has been so good to us, because we reach the poor.

3) OFFER PRAISE- Psalms 50:23 says:  "Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me:"  When we offer Praise to God.... we Glorify Him!!  So... offer praise!!  Praise God for who He is.... praise Him for what He has done.... Praise Him for His work in your life.... Praise Him for being the great God of the universe... Praise Him!!!   This brings Him glory!

Hope you have a happy Thanksgiving!   Pastor Mike Mutchler
