PSALMS

It is another beautiful day in Oregon.  The sun is coming up and it will be a warm day I'm sure.  I'm so looking forward to Sunday to see how wonderfully the Lord will bless!  Today will be a busy day as well.  Men of Destiny meeting soon, a Wedding this afternoon, and Softball with the men this evening.  A full day and rewarding!  Here are a few thoughts from Psalms:

1) DON'T FRET- Psalms 37:1 says:  "Fret not thyself because of evildoers,"  Don't fret because someone opposes you.  Commit all of that to the LORD..  He is the one who vindicates His own.  Don't worry about it.

2) ARE YOU THIRSTY?  Psalms 42:1,2 says:  "As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.  My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God:  when shall I come and appear before God?"  Here we see that David had a thirst for God... do we?  We certainly ought to develop a strong desire to spend our time with God.  Last night we had an hour long prayer meeting at church.  Just kneeling or laying on the floor, and praying for an hour to the LORD.  How wonderful these times are.  Do you have a thirst for God?

3) SING- In Psalms 47:6 it says:  "Sing praises to God, sing praises, sing praises unto our King, sing praises."   Do you get the idea that God wants to hear us sing praises?  Four times in one little verse the Psalmist tells us to sing praises to God.  How is your song life?  Dust off those vocal cords today and sing a praise out to the Lord, and then work to keep a song in your heart all day.... sing praises!!

Well, I've got to go for now.... blessing on your brother and sister!  Dr. Mike Mutchler
