ECCELESIASTES-SONG OF SOLOMON-ISAIAH
Yesterday, I had an early visit to a hospital and stayed there until the afternoon. One of my member's mother was close to death and I had prayer with her and her family. She has not passed away yet, but she is close to Heaven's bright shore and ready. Soon we all will be enjoying Heaven's sure promise. So, I missed blogging yesterday. Today, I have a lot of chapters to cover, but I will only pick out a few thougths. 1) WHEN IT IS ALL SAID AND DONE! - In Eccl. 12:13, it says: "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter; Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man." Our duty is to fear the LORD and to keep His Word! This sort of simplifies life doesn't it. When it is all said and done we just fear God (reverence Him) and strive to obey. I think Solomon had great wisdom when God used him to pen these words. 2) LET'S SUM HIM UP! Just Like Eccl. 12:13 summed up what life is all about, Song of Solomon 5:16, sums Jesus up. It says: ".... he is altogether lovely." This is describing the love of lady described in chapter one. This man she is in love with is "altogether lovely". This relationship between them symbolizes the love between the Church and Jesus Christ. We (the church) are the bride, and Jesus is the groom. He is "altogether lovely"! This statement sums Jesus up real well. He is everything and more! 3) LET'S SUM UP SALVATION. Since we are on a roll in summing things up today, let me sum up Salvation. In Isaiah 1:18: "Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool." Here is how it all sums up. We come to Jesus and He does the washing. He gets out the stains that no fuller can get out. Once these colors are in fiber, man cannot get them out without destroying the fibers..... but not God! He can get the sin as red as crimson and scarlet, out of our lives and wash us whiter than snow and wool. What a Savior!! Well, so much for today. Thank you for taking the time to read the blog. I hope it is a help and encouragement for you today. Can I pray for you? Dear Lord, Thank you for this wonderful day! We love you and are so grateful for being such a wonderful God. Lord, please be with those who stopped by to read today. Strengthen them today Lord.... Help them through the trials in their lives.... help them to lean on You today! Help them to hear Your voice as you guide us this day by Your Spirit. Lord, wrap them up with Your arms of love. Thank you Lord! Amen! Dr. Mike Mutchler |
