MONDAY IN THE WORD
Today is Monday and we had a wonderful day yesterday with people being baptized, joining the church and a wonderful Christmas program last night with eight being saved. Yes, Christmas program that at first was scheduled early for December 14th but was held on January 11th, almost a month later due to weather. It was beautiful, moving, touching, and a blessing! Thanks for the 130 people who had a part and did a great job! Today, I'm flying out of town for a few days to Colorado to preach for a church so I just a little time to write this morning. Here goes: NO KING- The problem with the period of time of the judges was that there was no king in Israel. This phrase is mentioned four times, and then it goes on to say a few times "but every man did that which was right in his own eyes." Without leadership, people follow their own way to the best of their ability. So, what so wrong about that? Well, the Bible says: (Pro 16:25) There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. So our own way is not the right way. The Bible also says: (Jer 10:23) O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps. So, how do we as Christians find our way when it seems so hard to do? Well, the Bible says two things that help us: (Psa 37:23) The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. AND (1Co 11:1) Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ. ; and: (Heb 13:7) Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation. So, we are to follow God's Word, and follow God's man AS he follows God's Word. We cannot improve on God's plan for leadership and followship. It may not sound like what is best, but it is never improved upon when you start looking at the outcome. The "I'll do it my way", sure sounds good until you look at how these lives end up in disarray! Let's start singing: "I'll do it God's Way!!" Have a blessed day!! Pastor Mike Mutchler |
