PSALMS
It's Friday. I got up this morning and went fishing with my father and brother. My brother has a nice bass boat and we went after bluegills. While there, my nephew and his wife were fishing on the lake as well, and they told us where they were bedding and so we caught a lot as well. Dad sure enjoyed himself and caught more fish that Phil and I together. So, because of that I read this afternoon and just am sitting down to type. Here is just a few thoughts: 1) WHAT THE SEA SAW- Ps. 114:3 says: "The sea saw it, and fled:" This chapter talks about the Red Sea. It treats the sea as though it were a person and how it reacted to what God did in parting the sea. It is amazing to read and try to comprehend. It tells how the Red Sea and the river Jordan, was driven back. It then says: "Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the LORD, at the presence of the God of Jacob." The answer is that even the Sea fled from the presence of the LORD. It God wanted it to part, it was going to part!! God makes creation respond to the Creator, we too ought to do the same thing. 2) Psalms 118:14- "The LORD is my strength and song, and is become my salvation." Strength, Song, and Salvation! This verse will preach. God is all three of these wonderful things. 3) GLAD!! Psalms 122:1- "I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD." David said he was GLAD to go to Church!! I feel that same way. I wish all Christians could enjoy the house of God like David did. We ought to love the opportunity of going to church. I know that I live for Sundays! I know I'm a preacher, but even if I was a laymen, I still love church. Learn to love and anticipate going to Church. God is going to meet with us, if we expect it. 4) UNITY- Psalms 133:1 "Behold, How good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!" Unity, not uniformity. God takes us from all parts of the earth from all types of backgrounds and experiences, and still we can have unity because Jesus Christ is our common denominator…. He lives in us!! May all of God's children enjoy unity together in Christ. Well, I've got to go for now, see you tomorrow! Have a blessed day! Pastor Mike Mutchler |
