Four Books Of the Bible

I just got my second cup of coffee.  I'm in my easy chair rocking slowly, typing on my laptop.  My Bible is open having just finished reading Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, and Colossians.  There are twenty chapters in these small books and they are a wealth of truth.  I have been preaching through these books on Sunday Nights and have greatly enjoyed them.  Here are some things I thought about as I read these books of the Bible:
In Gal. 1:17, Paul said: "I went into Arabia" the next verse tells us that it would be about three years he spent in Arabia and Damascus.  Arabia is a desert place.  Sometimes, God puts us in a desert place so we can grow into what we need to be before God will put us where He wants us.  Arabia is a school of learning, the school of hard knocks so to speak.  We don't enjoy Arabia in our lives, but we always look back upon it as the place of growth in our lives that prepared us for ministry.  This is always the case.  The hard times make you stronger!  Don't shun your Arabia, embrace it, knowing God has a master plan for your life and He means it for good! Gal. 3:1 "who hath bewitched you".  There is always a "who" that would corrupt us.  As Christians, we must always be careful of the company we keep.  This "who" was in the church and was trying to corrupt the doctrine of certain Christians in the church at Galatia.  The Pastor should always be made aware of anyone who would espouse false doctrine, because his job is to deal with it.  Paul addresses it in this book and makes the Christians know that there is always a "who" in the shadows trying to corrupt the doctrine and practice of other Christians. Eph. 4:32 "And be ye kind"-  This would solve so many relationship problems if we just learned to be kind to each other.  This is the biblical command for God's children… be ye kind!  Col. 2:6 says: "As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:"  I wrote in the margin of my Bible, "Walk Your Talk".  The Bible is saying what you know about Christ.... so walk ye in him."  Simply put:  Walk your talk!  We want to know more and more and so we should, but let us be careful to live what we know.  That is what is most important.  Not knowledge, but what knowledge we practice!!  Well, I've got to start my day.  Join me tomorrow for another cup of coffee and an open Bible.  Pastor Mike Mutchler
