It is good to be back in Oregon, and I'm looking forward to keeping my blog up to date for a while. I have a few days of travel left this year, but not many. In reading in II Kings today, I want to share just a few thoughts: 1) SAME JUDGMENT- In II Kings 9, we see that Jehu smote Joram, king of Israel in verse 24, and in verse 27, Jehu killed Ahaziah, king of Israel. Their fathers: Jehoshaphat (King of Judah), and Ahab (King of Israel) were in league together often and because of that, their children formed alliances that caused them both to die on the same day by the same man who was used of God to meet out judgment. Don't fellowship with the ungodly, and you will not have the same judgment upon your life as they do. Don't give your children the same judgment as well. 2) HEARTS IN ACCORD- In II Kings 10:15, Jehu asks this question of Jehonadab: "Is thine heart right, as my heart is with thy heart?" He was asking: "Is your heart in accord with mine?" That is what he is saying. As believers, our hearts should be in one accord. It is Christ that makes our hearts to be in accord with other believers, and it is Satan that causes our hearts to be in dis-accord with the brethren. Let us keep our hearts in accord for Christ's sake! 3) HID IN THE HOUSE OF GOD- The last thought I have for today is this... hide your children in the house of God! In II Kings 11:3, we see that Joash the child born of the king of Judah, was hid in the house of God for six years. He was just a baby when he was hid in the house of God and he became the king at the age of seven. He was hid in the house of God and God used that to save him and to being about a godly king for Judah, because he was trained of the High Priest Jehoiada. Verse 17 says: "And Jehoiada made a covenant between the LORD and the people, that they should be the LORD's people; between the king also and the people. Here because the child was hid in the house of the LORD, he was able to influence the people to come back to serving God! Let us hide our children in the house of God. Hope you have a blessed day! May God bless you. Pastor Mike Mutchler |
