JOB & PSALMS

This morning, I read through Job very slowly and now I have little time to type out my thoughts, but I want to share a few things that God used to speak to my heart.  The goal of reading our Bibles is not just knowledge, but for God to speak to our hearts while we read.  Reading the Bible is the chief way that God speaks to us, and what the Bible says, it says to all and it says authoritatively.  But, God will used one verse to speak to me and another to speak to you, even if we read the same verses and chapters.  That is how wonderful God is!  Here are things God spoke to me about:

1) HE HATH GARNISHED THE HEAVENS- This is said in Job 26:13.  In Genesis, we see that he made the sun and moon, and the Bible says:  "he made the stars also".  The billions of stars in our universe and millions of gallaxies, were made almost as though it was nothing of note.  Here we see that the spirit of the LORD garnisheth the heavens.  Now, to me, this is not stars, because that is already mentioned, but here we have comets, falling stars, astroroids, black holes, super novas, etc.  All of these "extras" garnish the heavens for man to look at and wonder over.  How big is our God?  Amazing!
Then, in the next verse it says:  "Lo, these are parts of his ways:  but how little a portion is heard of him?"  The idea is this.... knowing all we know about God... it is so little of who He is.  He is so great, we know so little of His greatness!  We are filled with wonder with what we know, but we know so little!  Cannot wait till Heaven when we will be filled with the knowledge of God!  No wonder we can sing His praises throughout eternity and it never will get old.  God is that great!!!!!

2) WHAT IS THE HOPE OF THE HYPOCRITE?  Job 27:8 says:  "For what is the hope of the hypocrite, though he hath gained, when God taketh awayhis soul? (vs. 9) Will God hear his cry when trouble cometh upon him?"  What good does it do to "fake" out man with our hypocricy when it doesn't get us anywhere with God?  How does it help when our time is up?  How does it help when we need answers to our prayers?  It doesn't!!  So, the best thing is to be real and walk humbly and transparent before God since we are transparent in His sight already!  There is hope in the life of the man who walks righteously before God and man.

3) THE HOPE OF THE RIGHTEOUS- Psalms 4:3  "But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself:  the LORD will hear when I call unto him."  This is just opposite of the hypocrite.  This is where we want to be.  Strive to be godly.  We cannot on our own, but God will help us when we call on His name and yield to His will for us.  To be a clean vessel is to be a powerful vessel that God can use.  God wants us to be "for himself".

Oh LORD, let that me my desire... to be wholly thine.  To walk in righteousness.  To listen to Your voice.... to obey Your slightest whim.  I humble myself in your presence and acknowledge that I am not self sufficient.  I need Thee... I long for Thee!  Oh fill my heart with Thy presence LORD!!  Here I am... I am Thine... use me for Thine purpose!  Love you LORD!!  Amen.

Have a blessed day dear friend.  Pastor Mike Mutchler
