ISAIAH

I'm in Toronto, ON, Canada today.  I preached for Bro. Brian Johnston with Dr. Ricky Finley of Durham, N.C.  I am with my dear wife of 35 years and we are having a good time.  We are getting to sleep about 2:00am and having a  hard time getting up at 8:00am since we have a three hour time difference and have jet lag.  Wow.  We will get used to it just in time to go home I'm sure.

I'm reading in Isaiah again, and here are just a few thoughts:

1) SIGNS AND WONDERS- Many Christians today still expect to see signs and wonders everywhere they look, well, here is one I wouldn't want to see:  Isaiah 20:2,3 "And he did so, walking naked and barefoot. (3) And the LORD said, Like as my servant Isaiah hath walked naked and barefoot three years for a sign and wonder upon Egypt and upon Ethiopia."  I think I'll just still to preaching the Bible and trying my best to live the Bible.

2) GOD HEARS THE PRAISES- In Isaiah 24:16 it says: "From the uttermost part of the earth have we heard songs, even glory to the righteous."  All around this world today, there are Christians who will lift up their voice in praise to God, and God will hear them.  They may be in big cities, or in little villages scattered around this great earth of ours, but they will lift up their voice in praise to God.  This morning, I get to be among that great crowd of people who will sing praises to God.  I love singing the hymns at Church because I'm singing to Jesus!

3) ONE BLESSED DAY!!- One of these days.... Oh what a blessing it will be!!  In Isaiah 25:8 it says: "He will swallow up death in victory; and the LORD God will wipe away tears from off all faces;"  One of these days.... no more death, no more tears!!  Also, no more struggles, no more failures, no more sin, no more discouragement, no more heartache, no more, no more, ......... no more!!!  Praise God!

4) SEEK AND READ!  Isaiah 34:16 says: "Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read:"  What good advice!  Get your Bible out and read it!  God wants to impart wisdom to us, but we must be a people of the Book.  We must read God's Holy Word and glean the wisdom that the Holy Spirit speaks to us each time we read God's Word.  Let us pray before we read, and then apply what we see.  Seek and read.... still good advice for our day.

Hope you have a great Saturday, and tomorrow is Sunday!  Blessings on you.  Pastor Mike Mutchler

Great words of encouragment,thank you.
It really is all about choice, and if we are choosing to serve God then we must be willing not to serve the flesh. It's tough, but I really do want to here the words one day; "Well done my good and faithful servant.

If you get a chance check out my newley released book titled "The Sword and the Spear."
I take readers through everday events that will cause them to either stay defeated by the ever deciving spear of satan or to become a mighty warrior and pick up the sword of God.
