JEREMIAH

I'm in Jeremiah again today and I have a few thoughts to share.  It has been cold outside and I'm having a harder time getting up out of a warm bed.  Anyway, that is my struggle for today, and here are the thoughts I have for you from Jeremiah:

1) NOTHING IS TOO HARD- Jeremiah 32:17 says:  "Ah LORD God!  Behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:"

And in Jeremiah 32:27, it says:  "Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh:  Is there anything too hard for me?"  The answer is:  "No!"

God can do anything, anything, anything; God can do anything, but fail!  This is why the prayer promise of Jeremiah 33:3 is so powerful:  "Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not."

2) WHERE ARE THEY NOW?  God makes a great point in Jeremiah 37:19, when Jeremiah asks:  "Where are now your prophets which prophesied unto you, saying, The king of Babylon shall not come against you, nor against this land?"  The point is that those who make the claims that affect everyone's lives are not around when all of their presumptions are proved wrong!  Where are those who advocated never punishing a child?  Where are those who promoted the over population of the earth by the year 2,000?  Where are those who said Jesus was coming back in the 1980's?  Where are those who…. And the list can go on and on.  The thing about God is …. He is still around to say:  "I told you so."

3) A GOOD RULE TO LIVE BY- Jeremiah 45:5- "And sleekest thou great things for thyself?  Seek them not:…"   We get in trouble when we try to promote ourselves.  The thing to do is stay humble and let the Lord lift you up if He desires to.  Still, having been lifted up a little, the way to stay there is to continue to live humbly before God and men.  The surest way to fall is to let pride enter your life.  That is when it can all fall apart.

Well, hope you have a blessed day!  May God bless you.  Pastor Mike Mutchler
