Exodus 11-30

Happy 4th of July!  What a nation!  How blessed we all are!  I am in Exodus today and here are some highlights:

1) MURMURING AT MARAH- Everyone goes through tough times, but don't blame the man of God for it.  This is what the Israelites did however. (Exodus 15) They needed water but the water was bitter, so the blamed the man of God, Moses!  God used Moses to make the waters sweet, but we don't read anywhere where they went back and apolagized to Moses for all of their murmuring.  I guess it is easier to complain than to compliment, but one will get you further than the other.... guess which one?

2) HOLDING UP THE HANDS OF GOD'S MAN- In Chapter 15 the people of Israel murmured against Moses, but in chapter 17 of Exodus, we see two men who hold up the hands of God's man, and it makes all of the difference!  Aaron and Hur hold up the hands of Moses while Joshua is fighting the battle in the valley.  It is a great picture of how God works.  God works through a man (Moses), but that man has human limitations and weaknesses.  He is not a super man, but is called by God to do supernatural things.  He cannot do them without help.  Praise God for the good men and women in Bible believing churches who chose not to murmur, but to hold up the hands of God's man.  They are the good people that encourage the Man of God.  Moses was told many times by God to "encourage" Joshua.  I am so thrilled to have many good people in my church that hold up my hands and strengthen me for the task.  What a blessing they are.  Why not be a blessing to the Man of God who you call pastor?

Well, so much for today!  Have a blessed day in the LORD!  Pastor Mike Mutchler
