LUKE & JOHN
A wonderful day yesterday at Church. Looking forward to our Youth Revival this Monday evening through Wednesday evening. Pray for it please! Here are some insights into a few thoughts I had as I looked at Luke and John. 1. RICH MAN CAME TO CHRIST- As I read Luke 19, I was reminded of something I heard many years ago from a preacher. He said: Jesus went to the poor; the rich men came to Him. I do know that the Bible says in the story of the wedding feast.... "call the poor, the blind, the lame, etc." Zacchaeus was rich (vs.2) and yet (vs. 3) "He sought to see Jesus, who he was". He was short, so he climbed up into a sycamore tree. What a story of Jesus noticing someone who had a heart open to him. It is in this context of Jesus going to Zacchaeus home and hearing Zacchaeus give away half of his goods to the poor, that Jesus says in verse 10, "For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost." Zacchaeus was lost and seeking to see Jesus, but little did he know that Jesus was seeking for him to save him. Before we were ever seeking for Him, He was seeking for us! 2) ALL THE SCRIPTURE- In Luke 24:27, we have the disciples on the road to Emmaus meeting up with Jesus and they don't know it yet. While walking the Bible says in verse 27, "he expounded unto them in all the scriptures, the things concerning himself." How wonderful that would be even today to hear all the things of Christ expounded from the Scriptures! We can read and study them, but when Jesus gives you the clear picture, how wonderful that had to be for them. No wonder "Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?" Wow!! 3) THE SEARCH IS ON- In John 4:23, it says: "for the Father seeketh such to worship him." God is looking for followers who will worship Him in spirit and in truth. Oh that we could be open and honest before God and worship Him as He desires! Dear God, thank you for life, another day to praise You! Thank You Lord, for Your grace that saved us and Your presence that fills us with peace and joy. Lord, let us walk in your presence today, ever conscious of How wonderful You are. Let us worship You today with our whole spirit and in truth, acknowledging that we are nothing, and that You are everything. I love you Lord... may every action and thought today show that to a world who is watching me, and more importantly.... to You dear Lord. Thank you Jesus.... Amen! Have a blessed day!
