I & II Corinthians
It's Friday! It has been an amazing week. We had a great Youth Revival and then we had a great night soul-winning last night as well. Seventeen were led to Christ in my car of four men. I was blessed to pray with six of them. How open so many people are to the Gospel. All of these were on one of our bus routes so their names and addresses will be given to that bus captain. I'm in I & II Corinthians and beyond, so let me give you two or three thoughts: 1) CHAMELEON? When Paul says in I Corinthians 9:22, "I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some." Is he talking about being a chameleon that changes color with every surrounding? No! He is simply stating that we are to relate with others we come into contact with. We do not mesh with their environment.... we are to mesh with God's. We water down godly living to the point that even a lost world doesn't see any difference. How sad! You can still see many people come to Christ and still look and behave like a Christian. 2) A DOOR AND YET.... In II Corinthians 2:12 it says: "and a door was opened unto me of the LORD." and yet the next verse reads: "I had no rest in my spirit, because I found not Titus my brother: but taking my leave of them, I went from thence into Macedonia." Now, here is the thought: Just because God opens up a door of opportunity, does not mean you are at perfect peace. There are still many adversaries and problems. Just go through the door and deal with the trials! Faith in God's ability will push you ever forward, dependency upon your abilities will draw you back to do nothing! Expect trials....it is a part of life! Well, my time has gone quickly, I must be at a meeting soon. Have a blessed day! Pastor Mike Mutchler |
