Esther & Job

What a wonderful day we had at church today!  God blessed with souls saved, ten baptized, one more join the church, and a great spirit morning and night!  God has been so good to us and has blessed our church greatly this whole past year!
Here are a few highlights in Esther and Job:
1) IN A HURRY! Esther 8:14, "being hastened and pressed on by the king's commandment."  We need to be in a hurry to obey the commands of Jesus Christ.  The world is waiting for the good news and we need to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
2) Mordecai is a blessing!  Esther 10:3 says about Mordecai that he was "seeking the wealth of his people".  He wanted them to be blessed.  Our goal should be to be a blessing to all that we come into contact with as well. Just like Mordecai, we are to seek the blessings of God for others.
3) JOB TOOK THE GOOD AND THE BAD- This is so hard for Christians to do, but it is necessary.  In Job 1:21, it says: "the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD."  We praise God when He is giving, but can we still praise Him when He is taking away?  We certainly ought to do our best to praise His holy name no matter what life throws at us!
4) THE VALUE OF MAN- Job 7:17 "What is man, that thou shouldest magnify him?  and that thou shouldest set thine heart upon him?"  If you are honest, you have often asked "what does God see in me that He would love me?"  The answer does not lie in the worth of man, but the nature of God.  He loves us because of who He is, not because of who we are.  God loves you!  Take courage, God is in your corner!!
Well, so much for today.  May God bless you today!  Pastor Mike Mutchler
