THE HIGH COST OF FOLLY

Today is Monday. Yesterday it was rainy and windy, but God blessed with a great crowd of people and we had a great time at Church. God met with us and it was so exciting! Today, I am in Judges 20, and here is the thought:

THE HIGH COST OF FOLLY
Men of Benjamin were wicked and attacked a man and his concubine. They wanted the man (sodomites) but abused the woman till she died. What wickedness to be found in Israel. Now, instead of dealing with the sin, the Benjamites defend their actions! Wow! See how wrong becomes right and right becomes wrong? The man cuts up his concubine and sends pieces of her to all of Israel and they come out to fight against the Benjamites. Now listen.... it was the act of a few wicked men, but when you stand up for wickedness, their is a high cost in putting it down. They battled several times, and here is the outcome: Israel lost 22,000 men, and then 18,000 in another battle. Then Israel killed 25,100 men of Benjamin. Then 30 more men of Israel died, and then another 18,000 men of Benjamin died. Now, add all of those up and it comes to.... 83,130 men died because of the folly of a few. The Bible says: Eccl. 10:1 "Dead flies cause the ointment of the apothecary to send forth a stinking savour: so doth a little folly him that is in reputation for wisdom and honour." Friend, steer clear of folly! There is always a high cost associated with it!

Have a great day. Pastor Mike Mutchler
