ACTS
Today is Sunday! I'm so looking forward to meeting with God's people this morning. I'm trusting God to do something special as He has each Sunday these many months and years. I'm in Acts this morning, and here are some thoughts to share:
1) HE WON THEM OVER- A day or two ago, I mentioned the Hardest Group to Win. That was family. Jesus' own brothers did not believe him. But in Acts 1:14, it reads: "These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren." So they were all there in the upper room. He won them over. I also mentioned that James was the pastor of the church in Jerusalem, and wrote the book of James, and that Jude was also a half brother to Jesus. His brethren became followers of the Lord Jesus Christ, and servants of the LORD.
2) EXCLUSIVE! Jesus Christ is the only way to Salvation. John 14:6 tells us that "no man cometh to the Father, but by me." In Acts 4:12 we read: "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." Now for anyone to say that there are many ways to God, or to Salvation, is to go directly against the clear teaching of the Word of God. In fact, you would have to deny the Word of God, and having done that, what other source is going to tell you about Heaven and how to definitely get there? There is no other source of truth that speaks to sin, salvation, and a Savior; but the Word of God. Believe it, receive it, live it!
3) A SIMPLE CONFESSION- The Ethiopian eunuch said in Acts 8:37 "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God." How simple! How effective! Salvation is not complicated. Jesus meant for it to be simple and forthright: Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved. Yes, that simple and profound profession is what makes a sinner a saint. A lost man found. A dead man made alive. A child of Hell and son of Heaven! Praise God that as a nine year old boy, I trusted Christ as my Savior. I confessed Him as my Savior. Praises!!
Well, I hope you have a wonderful Sunday! I'm looking forward to the day!
