Fw: LAST OF ISAIAH

Today is Tuesday.  I have had a full morning, and now in the afternoon I will do my blog.  Now that I am going to the gym from 7am to 8:00-8:30am I have to change my schedule.  I've been needing to exercise for years, and my doctor has always asked me what I do for exercise.  Now, (for at least a solid week at least) I would have something to say.  Here is the last of Isaiah and now for a few thoughts:

1) WHO BELIEVES IT?  (I DO!) Isa 53:1  Who hath believed our report? - The report of the prophets, of John the Baptist, and Christ's own report of himself. The Jews did not receive the report, and for this reason he was not manifested to them as the promised Messiah. 'He came unto his own, but his own received him not.' Before the Father he grew up as a tender plant: but to the Jews he was as a root out of a dry ground. "He hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him."
The good news of the Gospel is so wonderful some people just don't believe it.  Well, I do, and it has changed my life and eternity forever.

2) MY SALVATION IS NEAR TO COME- Isaiah 56:1 "Thus saith the LORD, Keep ye judgment, and do justice:  for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed."  God here tells us what are his intentions of mercy to us: My salvation is near to come - the great salvation wrought out by Jesus Christ (for that was the salvation of which the prophets enquired and searched diligently, 1Pe_1:10), typified by the salvation of the Jews from Sennacherib or out of Babylon. So God was saying that soon salvation would come in the ending of captivity, and more importantly.... in the sending of His Son, Jesus Christ!!

3) GOD'S NAME AND GLORY SHALL SHINE FORTH, AND THE SPIRIT SHALL LIFT UP A STANDARD AGAINST THE ENEMY- Isaiah 59:19 "So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun.  When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him."  There are two great truths in this one great verse:  a) There will be a day that the name of the LORD shall be feared in the west and His glory shall rise in the east (rising of the sun).  In other words, God's glory shall be in the west, the east, and everything in between!  From sea to shining sea.... God's glory shall abound!  then; b) When the enemy comes in like a flood... then the Holy Spirit will raise up a standard against the enemy.  Now this means when the Roman government suppressed Israel, God raised up their Messiah... Jesus Christ!  It also means when the world is overwhelmed by Satan's forces, then Jesus shows up in the Rapture of the Church.... get ready people!!

Well, so much for today.  I hope you have a wonderful day.  God bless you!  Pastor Mike Mutchler
