Revelation

Today is Sunday!  Yeah!  I love Sundays.  I just finished reading the book of Revelation for the fifth time this year.  I have enjoyed it very much.  It is going to be an overcast day it looks like, but I'm looking forward to meeting with God's people.  I'm preaching on a six week series called:  Taking the Next Step.  Today is number one.  I'm excited about it.  Here are some thoughts for today:

1) IN THE SPIRIT ON THE LORD'S DAY- Rev. 1:10- "I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day,..."  How wonderful it would be if every Christian showed up to Church today "in the Spirit"!  That is my desire.  To be filled (totally yielded) with the Holy Spirit so that He leads me and not myself.  It is so very important to be yielded and mindful of the Holy Spirit in everything we do, but especially that which we do at Church.  We need God's power to sing, to worship, to teach, to reach, to pray, to preach, and the list goes on and on.  It must be done in God's strength, not ours.  Let us purpose on this day, that we will be in the Spirit on the Lord's day!

2) HE WHO IS WORTHY- Rev 5:12 "Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing."  A search was on to find some who was worthy to open the seals, but none was found worthy, until the Lamb showed up.  Jesus Christ is the Lamb slain before the foundations of the earth.  Jesus Christ is the One who is Worthy!!  Oh praise His dear name!  He is worthy!

3) THE LAMB WINS THE WAR- Rev 17:14 "These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful."  The Devil,( the Old Dragon, the Serpent, & Satan), and all of his forces make war with the Lamb and His followers.  But the Lamb, our Lord Jesus Christ, prevails because He is Lord of lords, and King of kings, and we who are with Him are called, and chosen, and faithful!  Praise His dear name, we will be with Him when we see the demise of that old serpent who has troubled us and all mankind since the world began.

Well, my time has gone.  I trust you have a great day at Church today!  Pastor Mike Mutchler
