PROVERBS & ECCLESIASTES

What a blessing Sunday was!  A great crowd in the morning with ten professing their faith in Christ, and then on Sunday evening, the VBS review.  We had a great time with 185 saved for the week in VBS including Sunday evening.  My how God blessed! I'm in Proverbs and Ecclesiastes this morning, and here are some thoughts: 1) FOUR THINGS TO BUY AND NEVER SELL- Prov. 23:23 says:  "Buy the truth, and sell it not:"'  but it doesn't end there.  It goes on to say:  "also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding."  Now that makes four things we are to buy and never sell!  Let us take heed to this Bible command. 2) FACE TO FACE-HEART TO HEART - Prov. 27:19 says:  "As in water face answereth to face, so the heart of man to man."  This tells us that as a mirror (water in this case)  would reflect our faces; the heart of a man is reflected in the heart of his friends.  We affect each other, and our hearts reflect each other.  We answer back in kind to those we spend time with.  Now then, that means we should be very careful about the people we choose to spend time with because of this.  Only associate with people who have a heart that you desire!  Because Heart will respond to Heart!  3) GOD'S TIMING- In Eccl. 3, we see that there is a time for every purpose under heaven.  It starts with verse one and ends with verse 11 saying:  "He hath made everything beautiful in his time:..."  God has His timing down pat.  Our job is to trust His timing, not ours!  He has it all timed out and we can patiently wait knowing that the things we trust Him for are already on His time schedule and will come when God knows the best timing.  Psalms 27:14  "Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD."   God's timing is best!
