BACK ON LINE

Since Monday morning, early, I was in Santa Clara, CA. at the National Pastor's and Worker's Conference at North Valley Baptist Church.  I have enjoyed myself and was greatly blessed, but I did not have access to the internet.  It was there, but my laptop was not set up to receive their secure internet signal.  So, here I am on Friday morning, having not shared for several days.  I hope you will enjoy reading today.

I am in I Chronicles.  I love the history books of the Old Testament, but the Chronicles are my favorite of Samuel and Kings because it is written from by the priest instead of historians, like Kings are.  But, all of them are inspired by God and have so much truth for us as God deals with different leaders of Israel and the people.  Here are a few thoughts for today:

1) SING, SEEK, AND GIVE-  Want to know God?  Here are three ingredients:  "Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him, talk ye of all his wondrous works."  I Chron. 16:9;  "Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually."  vs. 11; "Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him:  worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness."
These things work!  Sing to the Lord throughout the day.  Get a song in your heart and keep it there.  Sing, hum, whistle, but keep it there!  Seek the LORD.  Seek Him in the beauty of His creation, seek Him in the Church house, seek Him as you read His Word, seek Him as you pray to Him.  Seek the LORD GOD most Holy!!

2) GREAT SACRIFICE- I Chron. 21:23 says:  "I give it all."  David wanted to buy a threshingfloor to offer a sacrifice to stop the plague that was killing thousands of people because of David's sin in numbering the people of Israel.  Now, he comes to Ornan the Jebusite, and asks him to purchase his threshingfloor and an animal for sacrifice.  Ornan says "I give thee the oxen also for burnt offerings, and the threshing instruments for wood, and the wheat for the meat offering, I give it all."  Not just a TITHE, but sacrificial giving.  OH that today, we would be like Ornan and say "I give it all"!  First to the LORD.  (It is His already!), and secondly as God directs.... to our church, our family, people in need, etc.   Let us be a people of Great Sacrifice!

Well, my time has come and gone.  May God bless you today!  Pastor Mike Mutchler
