REVELATION
Today, I'm in Tennessee with my Mother. My sisters and their families are here, my brother and his family are here, and today Alex flies in. It cost a great deal more to fly my family here than drive here, but we are having a great time spending it with each other. We miss Dad, but know he is in Heaven, but have not been together since eight years ago. It has been a good time and Mom is doing very well. Today we go and view Dad and then tomorrow is the funeral. About eight or nine in the family will take a part in the funeral. I am looking forward to it also, because my pastor, Paul Sitton will be there. He lead me to Christ when I was nine. He and my Dad were always best of friends. It will be great just to be around him. Thank you for your prayers, all is well. I'm finishing up the Bible again this year for the sixth time. Here are just a few things I notice in this great book of Revelation. 1) HE IS WORTHY!! Rev. 4:11 says: "Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power; for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created." God alone is worthy! He is worth all of our efforts, all of our praise, all of our loyalty, all of our love.... and one day.... we will truly see how great God is and stand in awe of His greatness and glory. By faith, know that He is worthy today and serve Him accordingly!! 2) OUR WORKS DO FOLLOW US. Rev. 14:13 "And I heard a voice from heaven sahying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the LORD from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them." My father is in Heaven right now, but the labors he put forth from the Savior, and the influence for the cause of Jesus Christ lives on! In my life and in many others. My father led many souls to Christ and many of them were in Heaven to greet him. I want to so live my life that my influence for Christ will live on and on many, many years after I'm in Heaven. We are rewarded for the work and influence of our lives till the Judgment Seat of Christ. Know that your labours are not in vain in the Lord!! Keep serving on! 3) OUR NAMES ARE WRITTEN DOWN! Rev. 21:27 "... but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life." Jesus is called the "Lamb", many times in the book of Revelation. It is the chief title used of the LORD. Jesus has a book and in that book, our names are written. We have our names in this book and once written, cannot be erased. We are told by Jesus Christ Himself, to rejoice not in the things that we are able to accomplish, but rejoice in that our names are written down in the Lamb's book of life. Praise God, my name is written down!! So much for today dear friend. Have a blessed day in Christ! Pastor Mike Mutchler |
