Luke and John

I just finished reading this morning, and it took a long time to read the 20 chapters because I was reading slow and the chapters were longer than normal.  I have just a little time to write something, but here are things I jotted down: 1) WHERE ARE THE NINE?  Jesus asks this in Luke 17:17, but what we ought to ask ourselves is "Will we be the one out of ten."  You see, only one came back to give Christ glory after he had been healed.  We have been saved, and we ought to be the one who is thankful, attends church, sings God's praises, gives cheerfully, serves gladly, and NOT like the nine who are still saved, but do NONE of the above! 2) IN YOUR PATIENCE POSSESS YE YOUR SOULS- This is found in Luke 21:19 in the context of the last days and all of it's troubles.  When troubles come your way, in your patience possess ye your souls.  Don't worry, be happy. 3) THEY BELIEVED THEM NOT- In Luke 24, the resurrection was not believed by some disciples at first.  In verse 11, it says:  "And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not."  This is actually a proof of the resurrection.  It was not a contrived story or they all would have readily agreed to accept it as truth, but over and over we see that even the disciples had trouble believing what had happened.  It was miraculous and thought he disciples had seen many miracles, they faith was always tested.  Today, we can have confidence that Jesus Lives!! 4) DO THE WORK-  We ought to do the work of God... but what is it?  In John 6:24 it says: This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent."  Yes, to trust Christ as one's Savior, is to do the work of God.  We are saved by our faith in Christ!!
